“Failure is only the opportunity to more intelligently begin again” Henry Ford

Remember when you learned how to ride a bike? Chances are there were training wheels on the bike at first and eventually those were removed. As the skill of balancing was attained a few bumps and bruises were picked up along the way. A few falls and soon enough you were on your own riding around the neighborhood. Do you remember how it was you got around to your new found freedom? It was the commitment to persevere regardless of the consequences. There was a goal in mind and you would stop at nothing to achieve it. The key to success…persistence and repetition.

The Secret of Success is Not a Secret: Stories of Famous People Who Persevered

Keep in mind anything attempted for the first time will be difficult, the repetitiveness is what will make the challenge easier. For this reason one must maintain a level of eagerness towards each challenge. Commitment to your task is key, others views of you should be the last thing on your mind. Obviously its not a great feeling to fail but it is just a stepping stone to your success. One must ensure that others do not derail you and instill panic in your path to succeed.

Persistence is never giving up when a challenge is encountered no matter what happens. Hardships and discouragement will be encountered. More importantly make sure your persistence is applied the right way. A plan is necessary to ensure you stay on course. Just being persistent does not mean you will succeed, you must know where you are going. Regularly evaluate each step taken as you strive for your goal. As soon as you notice something pushing you off your path go back and change it. The steps taken to achieve your goal might have to me changed so prepare yourself to be flexible.

Quote of the day

“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit. In life, all men make mistakes, the wise men learn from their mistakes.” -Winston Churchill
