Maintain a positive mind to fuel success

successThe one thing every person has full control over is your mental attitude. We choose to be happy or we choose to be unhappy and one of the greatest influences is our friends.  There are consequences for everyone that we become friends with.  Surround yourself with positive people. We absorb what people around us are talking about. If people are discussing negative aspects we pick up negative thoughts, if people discuss positive aspects we focus on positive aspects and feel better. If a negative person is encountered the best strategy is to say the least amount and move on. Do not stick around negative people for more than you have to. It is best to weed through friends and decide who affects your life positively and negatively. These people have the greatest influence over your mind. And if you have thought about changing them, think again its a lot harder than you think and this could prolong a negative friendship which will not improve your mind frame. If you insist give it a time frame if someone isn’t coming around its time to go.

As far as your family is concerned, same principle applies. Limit your communication! There are enough people out there to knock you down, your family members should not be one of them. If you see yourself getting involved in a negative discussion the best course of action is to change the subject, not too abruptly but make sure the conversation takes a different path.

The same tactics can be applied to your work environment, limit your contact with these folks! I understand that sometimes we need to interact with these types of people but do not stay around to long. Limit your words and move on and do this in the nicest way possible, we are not trying to make enemies or be seen as rude. Just keep in mind the advancement of your career will be hindered by your involvement with negative people.

The faster you start associating yourself with positive people the quicker you will notice changes and the path to success will become much easier. Keep in mind success brings on more success, failure attracts more failure and will limit your chance to succeed.

You can not dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself one – James A. Froude

Quote of the day

“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit. In life, all men make mistakes, the wise men learn from their mistakes.” -Winston Churchill
